SHJ Brings in Largest-Ever Summer Class for 2021

SHJ Brings in Largest-Ever Summer Class for 2021

When it comes to attracting top law students, is this the year of the small firm? Recruiting partner Adam Dinnell of Houston-based Schiffer Hicks Johnson thinks so. “While larger, less nimble firms have had to cut back or, in some cases, cancel their summer programs, we’ve taken the opportunity to expand.”

The 17-lawyer litigation firm is welcoming its largest summer class ever: five summer associates (2L) and two summer law interns (1L). “We’re building for the future,” Dinnell notes. “This class is not only our largest, but also our most accomplished group yet.”

Hailing from top law schools nationwide—including Georgetown, University of Chicago, University of Texas, Tulane, and University of Houston—the 2021 class includes a former schoolteacher, an architect, and a journalist. SHJ is also introducing a new program targeted specifically to 1L students in Houston to help build the pipeline for future growth.
