SHJ Names 2024 Diversity Fellows

We are excited to announce that Copenhagen Elliott (Northwestern University Pritzker School of Law) and Aman Sankineni (Columbia Law School) have been selected as SHJ’s 2024 diversity fellows. The three-week summer program includes robust educational programming as well as substantive client work. Because we view this fellowship as the first phase in a long-term relationship, we typically invite fellows to return as summer associates and/or first-year associates on successful completion of the program.

Copenhagen is a member of Northwestern’s Sports Law Society moot court team and the former 1L section representative of the Student Bar Association. In 2023, he summered with Kirkland & Ellis through the SEO Law Fellowship, a national program that places high-performing, underrepresented law students at top firms before the beginning of their first year. Before attending law school, Copenhagen spent several years working as a financial analyst in the tech sector. He earned an M.B.A. from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University and a double B.B.A. in Finance and Accounting from the University of Texas at Arlington.

At Columbia, Aman serves as the staff editor of the American Review of International Arbitration and the professional events representative of the Entertainment Arts and Sports Law Society. He also volunteers with Legal Outreach, a law-based educational program for youth from underserved neighborhoods in New York City, and the Human Rights in Armenia Pro Bono Project. Previously, Aman worked as a legal assistant for an entertainment law firm in California. He holds a B.A. in Political Science and a B.S. in Psychobiology from the University of California, Los Angeles.
