Dave’s practice centers on complex commercial litigation. As a former federal clerk in both district and circuit courts, he has experience overseeing the entire lifecycle of a case, from the initial complaint to an appellate mandate following appeal. Clients value his perspective on case management, from drafting a complaint to challenging dispositive motions, including strategies for conducting discovery and preserving the record for appeal. He is also attuned to the nuances of successful appellate advocacy, having drafted numerous opinions and memoranda and assisted the court in preparation for oral argument.

Before joining the firm, Dave clerked for the Honorable Timothy M. Tymkovich of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit. In this role, he worked on cases dealing with a wide range of civil and criminal issues across six states and their respective district courts. He also served as a law clerk for the Honorable Jeffrey V. Brown of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas, Galveston Division, where his docket included maritime, oil and gas, and other commercial cases as well as high-profile impact litigation. During law school, Dave was a judicial intern for the Honorable Lee H. Rosenthal for the federal district court in Houston. Before starting his legal career, he served eight years as an infantry officer in the United States Army.
