Robert Rankin and Daniel J. Scime have joined the team at Schiffer Hicks Johnson as associates.

Robert focuses on a range of civil litigation matters, from large federal cases to bankruptcy, antitrust, fraud, securities, product liability, environmental, and civil rights work. He has handled and submitted briefs in cases across the country, including in state and federal courts in Texas, Illinois, and New York as well as the United States Supreme Court. Prior to joining the firm, Robert was an associate in Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison’s New York office, where he concentrated on securities class action defense and antitrust matters. After leaving Paul, Weiss, he spent two years working as a staff attorney at Texas RioGrande Legal Aid. Robert received his J.D. from the University of Chicago Law School.

Dan focuses his practice on complex civil litigation, including trials and appeals. As a veteran of an Am Law 10 firm, he has extensive experience handling a broad range of sophisticated matters for corporations and individuals, including shareholder derivative suits, securities class actions, contract disputes, antitrust matters, torts cases, international arbitrations, and cutting-edge cybersecurity matters. Previously, Dan was an associate at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom, where he practiced general litigation in the firm’s Chicago office. He is also a graduate of the University of Chicago Law School.
